Dow Packaging Innovation Awards Honor Truman’s

Sept. 17, 2019 — Louisville, Ky. — Dow today twice honored Truman’s sustainable packaging design as part of its annual Packaging Innovation Awards.

The contest, which attracted nearly 250 entries from companies in more than 30 countries, recognizes the packaging industry’s top achievements in innovative packaging design, materials, technologies and processes.

Because Truman’s ships directly to customers, all packaging is designed exclusively for minimalist function rather than to stand out on crowded retail shelves. The cardboard packaging for all Truman’s Starter Kits uses the cardboard itself as the cushioning to hold bottles and cartridges in place, so there are no extra materials such as packing peanuts or air bags. Printed instructions on the top flaps eliminate the need for separate manuals. At its core, the packaging demonstrates that the company’s commitment to green cleaning goes far beyond cleaning itself to all elements of the customer experience.

Dow honored Truman’s as one of eight Diamond Award finalists, as well as one of six honorable mentions in its e-commerce category.

“We’re delighted to be recognized twice among the record-breaking number of entries this year,” said Truman’s Co-Founder Alex Reed. “After all, that’s 200 percent more recognition than the typical winner receives.”
